anyway the story I've got so far is Quya is the elder sister to Kuzco and was originally heir to the throne. Quya was fifteen years old when Kuzco was born (and in my AU, when they lost their mother, Empress Sayri, who Kuzco is a spitting image of <3) and she was eighteen and Kuzco three when their father, Emperor Uqllu, set sail for an overseas trade agreement with a king of India. However, his ship was caught in a horrible storm that sunk it, leaving no survivors.

my story/AU is based heavily off of Kingdom of the Sun, what Emperor's New Groove was going to be before the tone was completely changed. so weeks after their father set sail with a promise to return in a few months (effectively leaving Quya in charge of both her brother and the kingdom with Yzma and the imperial council's help), Kuzco started having nightmares every night.

Now the thing you most need to know about Quya is that she loves her family, especially her baby brother, more than anything in the entire world. And she is reckless and impulsive with her own safety.

Quya had snuck into Yzma's lab before to tinker with her elixirs and stuff, and so she snuck down there in the middle of the night to find something that might help her brother. What she ends up finding is an incantation meant to chanted during a very specific sacrifice to a very specific deity. She uncovers a plot to sacrifice a son of the sun (aka Kuzco) to unleash Supay from his prison beneath the earth.

Quya takes this incantation, fearing for her brother's life, and runs to the temple of Inti. She is seen and chased by Supay conspirators all the way to the temple. She throws the incantation into the fires of Inti, is attacked by conspirators, and (I've actually just changed this a little lol) Inti in his rage turns the conspirators into ash with his flames and turns Quya into gold to protect her.

For the next fifteen years, Quya is believed to be dead, and Kuzco is raised with the ghosts of his family, barely able to remember them.

Until Quya is found during a Chipmunk Scout field trip to the temple of Inti. When she is found, she is turned back into a human, and now has to grapple with the fact that so much time as passed and her baby brother is barely a year younger than she is now. :3

IT IS SOOOO MESSY AND SOOOO COMPLICATED AND THEY LOVE EACH OTHER THEY DO BUT THEY ALSO HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO HAVE A SIBLING AND HOW TO BE A SIBLING AND RAHHHH THEY MAKE ME EMO!!!!

Selfshiptober Day 1: Confession/Night

She looks at her, and suddenly those three little words cannot possibly do enough to convey her heart’s deepest desire.

Breathless laughter breaks the silence of the cool and clear night, far from the hustle, bustle, and brightness of New York City. The stars twinkle and shimmer in their void of light, the breeze rustling through the grass as it does the brown and yellow leaves of autumn trees.

On a quilted blanket, Ingrid and Loki lay laughing side by side, hand in hand. Calloused yet delicate palms pressed together, Loki’s coolness and the breeze sending a shiver down Ingrid’s spine. Even in spite of the long coat she wraps around herself like a blanket.

Their laughter dies down with their loss of breath, and Loki opens her eyes to find the stars above. Twinkling and shining. The lights of a million stars just out of reach, the dying breath of a once beautiful thing. The blue and pink swirl of the galaxy alights the night sky between each and every star. If she listened close enough, she’d hear the melody of the galaxy, of the universe. Even when Earth is nothing more than a speck of paint against the canvas, existence is all around in the stardust that makes up them all.

It is an odd thing to find comfort in. She turns her attention to the brown hand in hers.

Ingrid’s hand is so warm; like standing near a fire. She intertwines their fingers, black-stained lips curling in a smile as she squeezes.

Living in Midgard as a mortal has not been as bad as she feared. She feared the vulnerability. The frailty. The lack of strength, speed, endurance.

She takes a breath, allowing the cool night to inflate her lungs. The scent of musty earth and warm pumpkin coasts along her senses. An oddly pleasant scent.

It is a scent of life. Of time. Of change.

And oh, how things have changed.

She focuses on Ingrid. The warmth of her hand, the quiet breathing next to her. The steadfastness of her at her side. The strength of her core, what mortals (Midgardians, she reminds herself) might call a soul. Its energy thumps to the beat of her heart, and even now Loki can feel it reaching for her own.

She reaches out with her own core and basks in the light that fills her chest. That sends sparks of brilliance down her legs to her toes, that embeds itself in her heart. She sees Ingrid smile out of her periphery and knows that she feels their connection just as wholly.

Loki looks down at their intertwined hands; her own, pale and nails painted black, delicate and strong, and Ingrid’s, light brown that shimmers like gold in the sun, with callouses and scars of frantic writing and experiments of alchemy, of achieving the impossible.

She looks to Ingrid’s face, mere inches from hers. The shine of the stars in her eyes of purple fire, the smile curling up her lips. The mole above her brow she loved to kiss.

In spite of all the power Loki could hold in the palm of her hand as a sorcerer, she never allowed herself to believe she could have her again. The dead cannot be raised after all. Not without heavy consequence. She would not allow herself to hope only to have Ingrid’s likeness without the heart and soul that made her stay. That made her keep coming back.

And yet here she is. Alive, and whole. Different, of course. They both are. Six hundred years cannot pass without some kind of change.

Loki is grateful the love did not.

“How I love you, darling,” She finds herself whispering.

Ingrid turns her head to face Loki, purple meeting green. A tight braid of dark hair falls over her shoulder. “And how do you love me, Mischief?” She asks with a grin.

She knows damn well how she loves her. But Loki has never been one to remiss her if hearing it once more was what she wished.

“Like the sun loves the stars,” She says. “Like the heart loves the soul. Like a melody loves its harmony.”

“Like the stars love the galaxy? Like the rain loves the rainbow?”

“All that and more.”

Ingrid leans over and kisses her, then. Squeezes her hand and cups her face. Her palm cradles her cheek, full and warm lips pressing to hers with all the tender love and care that words cannot fathomably do justice.

A burst of stardust blooms in her chest, swirling with the loving tendrils of brilliant light that connect their souls.

Loki kisses her, her free hand cupping the back of Ingrid’s braided head to keep her close, aching for her touch. Kiss after kiss is pressed to gentle lips, until they smile too much for the kisses to reach.

It is only then that they pull back, just enough for the tips of noses to brush like the gentlest refrains of a song.

“I love you,” Ingrid says, still cradling Loki’s cheek. Her purple eyes shine with truth and starlight. “I love you, and will love you until the last star in the universe dies out and even longer after that. I am yours as you are mine.”

Loki presses her forehead to hers, smiling so softly she is grateful only the stars and the earth bear witness to this moment they share.

“I am yours as you are mine.”

I'm the more emotional one. We do constant communication & express our feelings to each other no matter the circumstances.

mist - how does your f/o help you out when you’re feeling lost?

Have a deep conversation while sitting next to me. She gently hold me in her arms. She also tells me what she likes about me.

stars - what kind of a date would your f/o take you on?

Stroll, rock climbing, shopping, farmers market, dine in at a restaurant, tennis, volleyball, the beach, getting ice cream, stargazing, grocery shopping, zoo, aquarium, walk on the beach, watch the sunset/sunrise, couples massage, paintball, mini golf, & kickboxing

apple - do you and your f/o cook together? what do you make?

Yes, we do cook together. We make pasta, seafood, meats, & veggies together.

dove - what kind of wedding would you and your f/o have?

A micro wedding- about 50-60 people there. Mainly immediate family & close friends. It would be a white & purple wedding theme.

storm - what are cozy days in with your f/o like?

It's very comfy to be with Rumi on cozy days in. We always watch TV series, play video games, & take a nap together.

ivy - how do you take care of each other when you’re sick?

We both take the temperature, give the person a glass of water, cook them chicken noodle soup, & tell the person to get some rest.

Yes, we do play video games together.

Rumi and I met when she saved me from the villain. After she beat the villain, she went up to me, asking me if I was okay. I almost couldn’t speak ‘cause of how strong & badass she is. I love her muscular arms, it’s so attractive to me. When she flex her arms, I find it so hot. Ever since she saved me from the villain, I started to have a crush on her. About a week after she saved me, I saw her again walking in the street. I walked up to her & thank her for saving me. Rumi said it’s no problem, I’m just hopping around & kicking the bad guys’ butts! I smiled at her, admiring her of how strong she is. I blushed when she said that. Rumi noticed I was blushing and asked me what I was blushing about. I told her ever since she saved me, I started to have feelings for her. It caught her off guard when I said that, Rumi said in a calm voice saying how very sweet of me, she called me little bunny and said I was cute when my face is red. I asked her if she want to have a coffee date with me and she said yes. After asking her out, she & I gave each other our phone numbers and started to call & text each other. Rumi & I went to the coffee café & we talked for about an hour there. We got to know each other & Rumi started to have feelings for me while I was talking to her. After we got done at the coffee café, she and I walked somewhere private, it’s just me & her. Rumi and I looked into each others’ eyes, having arms around each other, we both lean in and had our first kissed.

I was a bit shy when I first met Rumi's friends at first, but once I got comfortable being around them more, I became talkative. I get along with her friends very well.

When Rumi sleeps, she has a habit of kicking and twitching, especially wiggling her nose.

1. Ruled the Kingdom while Kuzco was at the academy

2. Also moved in with Pacha's family. Idk, I think it'd be an interesting dynamic and change if scenery!

THE WAY I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT!!!!

See, you make very compelling cases. Cause on one hand, you have Quya, who was technically raised to rule before she disappeared and thus passed that burden onto her baby brother, finally doing what she was lowkey raised to do and doing it really well. And it could make for a very good arc of Kuzco being insecure about how he would go about ruling the empire only for Quya to be more than willing to pass off the crown to him. Because Quya's fifteen years older than him, even if she was effectively frozen in time. She's had time to figure out who she is outside of being an Empress. Kuzco? Not really. And she knows that he wants to be better, and has full faith in him to be an Emperor that not only their home deserves, but that their family would be proud of. He'll have her by his side regardless.

And then on the other, you've got Silly Goofy Fun Times where Quya is the exasperated big sister Kuzco desperately needed his entire childhood calling him out on his shit with sass to match him.
